Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to get certified?
This depends on many factors – the size of the business, the service and products you provide and your needs. The Estimated Timeline section of your proposal has an estimated timeline recommended by our senior consultant based on your needs.
How much time will we need to put in?
The amount of your time required, will depend on the complexity of the business and on whether it is a simple Quality Management System or an Integrated Quality, Safety and Environment Management System.
Generally, after the business review meeting, which can be between 1 – 4 days, you will only need to allow typically between 2 – 4 days, spread over the development of the system, to review the completed system, introduce it to your business and be present at the Internal Audit.
Your proposal will indicate how much time will be required.

We can arrange for quotes for certification for you, so that you have a complete picture of the overall cost.
What resources will we need to commit?
The management team and appropriate personnel will need to be available for the Business Review meeting, though not everyone will be required for the full meeting.
You will need to appoint a Quality or Integrated Management Representative. This role is key in ensuring the success of:
- the implementation of the system
- the ongoing management of the system and maintenance of your certification.
However, depending on the size and complexity of the business, this role should only require 4 – 6 days per year.
What is the on-going commitment?
To maintain your certification you will need to conduct regular internal audits and to be audited by the certified auditor a minimum of annually and possibly every six months. The frequency of audits may vary depending on their findings.
ISO Global can assist you with your internal audits if required.
How soon will I receive my certification notification?
Once you have successfully passed the initial certification audit the report is passed to the certifying body for validation. Generally two weeks later you will receive your certificate.
